Short version: there are no accounts, and your citations never leave your browser unless you ask us to look something up.

Saved citations (your card drawer)

When you press “Save to drawer”, the citation’s fields are stored in your browser’s localStorage on this device, up to the last 50. They are not sent to us, and they don’t sync between devices. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Auto-fill lookups

When you press Auto-fill, what you typed is sent to our server, which asks the relevant public source: Crossref for DOIs, Open Library and Google Books for ISBNs, YouTube’s oEmbed service for video links, or the web page itself for other URLs. We don’t keep a log of what you look up.

AI features

The citation converter (and pasting a full citation into auto-fill) and the annotation helper send the text you paste to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway. The text is used only to produce your result. Don’t paste personal information into these boxes.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics tool, to count page views and see which pages are useful. It doesn’t use cookies or build profiles of visitors.
