By accessing and using CiteFast ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.
2. Description of Service
CiteFast is a free citation generator tool that helps users create academic citations in APA, MLA, and Chicago formats. The Service is provided "as-is" without any warranties.
3. Use of Service
You agree to use CiteFast only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
- Use automated tools to access the Service in a way that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce

- Always verify citations against your institution's style guide
- Different editions of style guides may have different requirements
- Some sources may require special formatting not covered by standard rules
- CiteFast is not responsible for incorrect citations used in academic work
5. No Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
6. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL CITEFAST BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data or citations
- Loss of profits or academic standing
- Cost of procurement of substitute services
- Academic penalties resulting from citation errors
7. User Content
Any citations, bibliographies, or other content you create using CiteFast remain your property. We do not claim ownership over your content. As stated in our Privacy Policy, all your data is stored locally in your browser and we do not have access to it.
8. Third-Party Services
CiteFast may use third-party services for metadata lookup (Google Books, CrossRef, etc.). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content provided by these services.
9. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue the Service at any time
- Change these Terms at any time
- Add or remove features
Continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Academic Integrity
CiteFast is a tool to help you create proper citations. You are responsible for:
- Using citations correctly in your academic work
- Following your institution's academic integrity policies
- Properly attributing all sources
- Not using the Service to facilitate plagiarism
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
